While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75-year old Texas rancher whose hand was caught in a gate while working cattle, the doctor struck up a conversation with the old man. Eventually the topic got around to Sarah Palin and her bid to be a heartbeat away from being President.
The old rancher said, "Well, ya know, Palin is a 'post turtle'."
Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him what a post turtle was.
The old rancher said, "When you're driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a 'post turtle'."
The old rancher saw a puzzled look on the doctor's face, so he continued to explain. "You know she didn't get up there by herself. She doesn't belong up there. She doesn't know what to do while she is up there. And, you just wonder what kind of dumb ass put her up there to begin with."

Jeez, Palin hatred has even spread to running blogs....and to think I thought this was going to be a tortoise and the hare type of running story. Palin hatred is everywhere, I can't hide!
yeah I thought I'd mix it up a bit. throw in some political bs. my mom sent it to me and I thought it was pretty funny.

I don't see it as hating Palin... just telling the truth about a candidate who wound up out of her league, big time.
I'm not really a supporter of Palin specifically, athletics, now that's another story... I just feel like her nomination is really bringing out the worst in people and I don't see how it's warranted. I understand you just posted a joke- no biggie- just was surprised to run in to it on this very serious running blog. But, it's everywhere, so I'm just witnessing all of this anger all around, which makes me empathetic toward the lil' lady and all lil' ladies being made fun of anywhere regardless of their situation.
